Even so, some were very painful to write, such as the fire that destroyed a day care center in northern Mexico where over 40 children died as a result of the flames and fumes. Tearfully I wrote the the poem, "Why This Way." An article in our local newspaper about women and young girls being raped so freely in South Africa inspired me to write the poem, It's All Free." However, there are some that I wrote are family related. "My Sister Winnie," "Her Light," "Until Tomorrow" plus "The Other Side," and "Judy." On the lighter side you will find, "No Ordinary Bird," "Hurricane Kate" and "Our Friend Joe," quite amusing. You will find that all the poems are clear and uncomplicated to read.
